Change you can make believe in....

McCain up 1 point today in Zogby poll. Maybe Obama peaked too early? Maybe the "spread the wealth" comment brought him back down to size? Who knows.

Speaking of who knows....

They found Obama's dear "Auntie Zeituni" living in Chicago that he spoke so highly of in his memoir. Yeah, she's living in the slums of Chicago. Illegally. And illegally gave $260 to the Obama campaign. Which they say they are going to return. And.... Obama didn't know she was living here illegally. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

If you believe that, you may possibly believe the following:

Obama sat in a pew for 20 years and never heard Jeremiah Wright say ANYTHING controversial. Riiiiiiiiight.

Obama and William Ayers aren't friends. They were just on a board together and lived in the same neighborhood. That's why Billy gave a name drop in one of his books. Not friends. Didn't hang out with one another. Didn't jump start his political career in his living room. Riiiiiiiiiiight.

Obama didn't attend a dinner party, with a second terrorist with first terrorist and his wife who was once on the FBI's top ten most wanted list, where controversial things were said. Riiiiiiiight.

The Obama campaign didn't have an agenda by turning the AVS off their credit card system, allowing a flood of illegal contributions to his campaign, and all those illegal funds will actually be returned. All of the contributions exceeding the legal limit of $2300 per CITIZEN, and of course, all the contributions from overseas. Every last cent. Riiiiiiiiiight.

And if you believe the aforementioned, you could possibly believe these:

He will not make Bush look like he was clipping coupons in his level of spending.

He won't raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year.

The government did such a great job with everything else they have ran thus far, including public schools, and of course butting into banks forcing them to make bad loans, thus causing a housing crisis, that we should give them EVEN more power, and let them control even more.

Capatalism is bad.

You are a victim, and Obama is going to take care of you. You won't have to worry about putting gas in your car or paying your mortgage anymore.

Spreading the wealth is good.

It's a good idea to let countries that hate us develop nuclear weapons, while we disarm ourselves against them.

Obama's having broken the biggest financial promise thus far, accepting public financing, is in no way a reflection of his character.

Neither is kicking the legit reporters from newspapers who endorse McCain off of his plane to make room for Jet Magazine.

Raising taxes on corporations is good. Tax 'em. Tax 'em hard. Make them pay my taxes, and give me some of their money. THAT will boost the economy and NOT cause inflation to skyrocket, leaving everyone no better off than before.

You have a good understand of economics.

You believe most economics professors and other such professionals, including corporations who work to keep prices low, will think Obama's plan is just and patriotic.

And as if this weren't all... he is also going to make me 2 inches taller.

By the way... I have this bridge for sell.....

Please tell me you're kidding. Seriously. Liberal hypocrisy leaves me speechless

R.I.P. Journalism. I hardly knew ye.

Let me get this straight.

The New York Times makes it FRONT PAGE NEWS that the RNC spend $150,000 on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and sent not one reporter to cover the story, but TWO!!!!

Please tell me you're kidding.

How much did Obama's wardrobe cost? Or Michelle's? Hey, spend that stimulus check on some new earrings!!! How much does Biden spend on those suits, and McCain for that matter. I know they ALL wear expensive wardrobes. ALL of them. And this is front page news?

That's all you've got left-wing media? That's it. Why don't we rehash her buying a tanning bed?

I think if you haven't already figured out they spend tons of money on these things already, you're a friggin idiot. I wasn't surprised by the figure as much as I was this being front page news and getting so much media coverage.

It's no surprise that the NYT is now junk stock.

Yet, where is the media coverage of Obama's donor fraud? This is much more newsworthy!

How about how his campaign turned off their address verification system so anyone in this country, or another, which is ILLEGAL to accept, can donote way over the legal limit of $2,300.00 per person?

Why aren't they reporting that you can go to the Obama website and do this:

Name: John Galt
Address: 1957 Ayn Rand Lane
City: Galts Gulch
State: CO
Zip: 99999

"Your donation has been processed." So was Nodda Realperson's credit card. And Fake Name's.

Do this with ANY credit card. Even those from FOREIGN banks!!!!!! You can even list your address as another country, and your credit card will be processed!!!! So far you can donote from North Korea, Iran, Gaza, Venezuela and Kenya.

McCain's website will REJECT these cards!!!!!!!!

NO!!!! Let's talk about funding Sarah's wardrobe instead!!!!!!

Next.

I am pretty tired of Sarah Palin being called an idiot for her religious beliefs.

Heaven forbid she pray that we are following God's will!!! Let's burn her at the stake!!!!

And she has not backed down from her beliefs.

Remember Rev. Jeremiah Wright? Obama threw him under the bus pretty fast, didn't he?

Didn't he say that the U.S. government was responsible for infecting African Americans with the virus that causes AIDS? Among other things....... MANY other things......

Obama attended that church for 20 years.

And Sarah Palin is the idiot?

Please tell me you're kidding.

PLEASE!!!!

And don't even get me started on the experience issue. Just... don't.

Let's not start distorting patriotism now, shall we?

I have had a hard time swallowing remarks about how paying taxes is "patriotic."

No, paying taxes is a requirement. It is a necessary evil. There are repercussions for not paying taxes. I know because I have been late on them before. In 2006 I rushed to the post office in April to make sure my state taxes were mailed in time. I barely made it. I specialize in procrastination. I have paid late fees on property taxes just this year because I was one day late. My own fault for forgetting the date. I never felt the least bit patriotic for it. I understand the need in it, but patriotic it's not.

Patriotism is not a requirement. Patriotism is, in a sense, more of an offering, and it doesn't have to be monetary.

Patriotism is walking by an American flag and feeling moved.

It is being 11 years old during Operation Desert Storm and having my grandmother wake me up at 5:00 in the morning to put on my housecoat and shoes, and walk down the road in the freezing cold to salute and wave to the National Guard deploying from the Armory I grew up near.

It is my husband taking time on Veterans Day to deliver flags to friends and family that served in the military and personally thank each of them for their sacrifice.

It is supporting the troops in war, whether you agree with it or not.

It is standing for the National Anthem, and putting your hand over your heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.

It's joining the military and leaving your friends and family behind to defend their honor and freedoms we take for granted every single day.

It is understanding that being a citizen of the United States of America is a privilege that people from all corners of the world envy.
It's understanding that you don't have to agree with the leaders of this country, can openly say so, and no one will kick down your door with their army boots and kill you and your family. That's a right not everyone has.

The dictionary defines patriotism as devoted love, support, and defense of one's country.

In January 2003, during his address to the British Ambassadors in London, Tony Blair said, "I sometimes think it is a good rule of thumb to ask of a country: are people trying to get into it or out of it?" He was talking about America, and he wasn't the first to say it in some form or fashion.

Being patriotic is different to everyone, but it is never a requirement.

Maybe you feel patriotic when you vote or contact your congressman. Maybe you feel patriotic when you send a care package to soldiers overseas. Maybe you feel patriotic when you donate money to charities. Maybe you feel patriotic when you bow your head to pray for the safety of your family.
I have been thankful at times that no one has ever noticed me get teary eyed during the part of Zac Brown Band's song "Chicken Fried" that goes:
"I thank God for my life
For the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly
Let it ring
Salute the ones who died
The ones who give their lives
So we don't have to sacrifice
All the things we love...
Like our chicken fried
And cold beer on a friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio on
Well, I can see the sun rise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love"

I will end this with the end of John McCain's republican nominee acceptance speech at the republican national convention.

"If you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist in our Armed Forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed. Our country will be the better, and you will be the happier. Because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself.

I'm going to fight for my cause every day as your President. I'm going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God, as I thank Him: that I'm an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on earth, and with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach. Fight with me. Fight with me.

Fight for what's right for our country.

Fight for the ideals and character of a free people.

Fight for our children's future.

Fight for justice and opportunity for all.

Stand up to defend our country from its enemies.

Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America.

Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. We're Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. We never hide from history. We make history.

Thank you, and God Bless you."

Let's do some math

The current population of the United States is 305,428,868, estimated.

Let's estimate that, and be generous, and say only 1/3 of that population is 18 and older, working and responsible for taxes.

This leaves us with 204,637,341.56 to pay taxes. (305,428,868 *.67)

Obama says 95% of the population with have a tax cut, and 5% will see a tax hike.

That means 10,231,867.05 will cover tax cuts on 194,405,474.51.

Not long ago Obama mentioned a $1,000.00 tax cut for middle class and lower-income families.

So... to cover the tax cuts, those 5% would have to pay $194,405,474,510

That averages out to $19,000 EACH would have to pay just to cover the tax cuts. This is just an average. Some pay more, some pay less. But if you make $250,000 a year, your taxes go up to cover this plan.

Keep in mind I am being VERY generous here.

Now let's get to Obama's spending plan. Let's say he spends that $293,000,000,000 a year that Tom McCardle says he proposes in spending EXTRA.

The top 5% are now paying $28,636.03 plus $ 19,000.00 totalling $47,636.03 a year, on top of their current taxes.

Now, let's see if Obama can attempt to tackle the deficit.

The current deficit for this year is, as I am typing this, $560,411,241,901.46.

This averages out to $54,711.16 for that top 5%. Add that to the previous $47, 636.03 a year, and we now have...

$102,347.10 on top of current taxes.

What happens if we all get stuck paying for the $700,000,000,000.00 bailout bill?

The rich will pay $68,413.71. Add it up. We are now at...

$170,760.81 average for each to pay annually ON TOP OF their current taxes.

And I am being generous. This is only federal taxes. They still have to pay state taxes.

I know this is not accurate to the penny, and I had to do some rounding, but I think a point here was made.

Jobs will be lost. The economy will continue to dive.

We're screwed '08.

Al Quada Number 2 In Command In Iraq Killed!!!

When you pray for our soldiers and their families before you go to bed tonight, let us not forget the 4,000 American Soldiers we have lost fighting in our wars. Nor let us forget the 500,000 innocent civilians killed by Osama Bin Laden before we went to war with them.

Amen.

Since people do consider abortion an issue to vote on...

This is a picture of my son when he is 5 days old. He is just a little over 5 pounds in this picture. He was born 5 weeks early. I show this picture because there is an important point I have to make. You can see he is fully formed. He came out fully formed and breathing on his own, as did my daughter, who was also early, and weighed just over 3 pounds.

And it is legal for women to abort babies in the third trimester in some states, though I am having a hard time finding out just which ones. I will continue to research until I find out. If you don'tknow the details of a partial-birth abortion, let me break it down for you in laments terms. There are 2 types.

In one type of partial birth abortion, the doctor will let the cervix dilate and then deliver the baby feet first until only the head remains in the womb. The doctor then takes scissors to the base of the baby's head and inserts a suction tube into the baby's head, and sucks about the baby's brain, which in turn collapses the babies head, allowing for easier removal through the cervix.

Do know this is quite painful for the baby! But it doesn't end there. There is another way this can be done.

In the other type of partial birth abortion, the doctor will enter the cervix, and go into the womb with a clamp, blindly, and grasp whatever they can get ahold of, whether it be an arm or leg, and pull it off the body. Remaining body parts are then grasped and pulled out until the floating disembodied head is floating in the uterus. It is grasped, and then crushed for easy removal, and then, of course, removed. Any remains are then suctioned out.

The baby feels this also! As you can imagine, it is painful beyond what I can imagine.

Some argue that partial-birth abortions are very rare and account for less than 1% of abortion procedures. I say that if it happens once, twice, ten, or a hundred times, it was wrong every time if the mother's health was not in danger. And seeing as how the mother's health accounts for so few of abortion procedures, I feel free to assume this holds true for partial-birth abortion also.

Abortions are currently happening at a rate of 1.3 million a year. By the time most women become aware that they are pregnant, there is a heartbeat. By the time an abortion is scheduled, the baby looks much more formed than you would think. There are arms and legs, fingers and toes. There is a circulatory system. During both of my pregnancies I was aware that I was sharing my body. It wasn't just MY body anymore, but there were 2.

Abortion used as a method of birth control is wrong. It has been manipulated and twisted into something it's not. Oh, it's just tissue. It's my body and I should decide if I want to be pregnant or not.

Condoms.
The Pill.
The Mini-Pill.
Depo Shot.
The Ring.
The Patch.
Spermicide.
Etc...much is available for free or cheap at health clinics.

Here's my opinion.

Excluding cases of rape, incest, and the mother's health.... NOONE IN THIS COUNTRY WANTS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!!!! And I think that sums it all up pretty nicely.

P.S. My congressman, Rick Boucher, supports partial-birth abortion in all cases, not restricting them to concerns for the mother's health, but as a means of birth control.

Hey Obama, your inexperience is showing!

I don't know what is wrong with this country that so many people are taking Obama at face value, instead of breaking out their calculators and seeing that his economic plan won't work on SO many levels!

Have you seen the video of Plumber Joe confronting Obama on having his taxes raised? If you haven't caught it on the news, you can watch it on youtube. Joe is getting ready to buy a business that will make a little over $250,000 a year, and asked Obama if he would have his taxes raised. Obama told him that it wasn't that he wanted to punish his success, he just wants to make sure that everyone behind Joe has a chance at success too. Obama goes on that when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody. Right. Those people behind him are going to lose their jobs.

Obama also says he will offer tax cuts to small businesses that create jobs for 2 years. So... he is going to raise their taxes and cut them all at once.

Get out your calculators!

People love this idea because in their minds, the rich are being punished for their success. Joe told Obama he was killing the American dream. I agree. Thank you Joe, for bring to light what most people are too lazy to see.

Voters are really seeing Obama as Robin Hood. Now come on people. You can't redistribute wealth without killing the American dream. What incentive do people have to start a business to increase their income, provide jobs, and make a good living for themselves in a country where such an idea is not a far stretch for almost anyone with a drive to do so. No incentive.

Hey Joe, noone wants to see you succeed! They want to see you get taxed. It's not fair for you to make more money than other people! It's not fair that when you were starting out only making it paycheck to paycheck, but worked hard, found a way to save money and get ahead, and have our next president step in and tell him that his profits will go to other people who don't have the same drive, and are getting your profits anyways.

That is killing the American dream.

Obama has also attacked McCain on lowering taxes for corporations that send jobs overseas.

At first this seems like an outrage. And lazy Americans who won't take the time to look into why are upset.

Here Obama is, taxing the rich and giving to the poor, while McCain is letting the rich get richer and the poor stay poor.

No. Jobs go overseas because they pay less taxes and wages. What incentive is there to stay here and pay higher taxes? None. If tax breaks are offered, jobs stay here!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama wants to tax corporations so they can lay people off, not create jobs. And what happens after 2 years, when they aren't getting these tax cuts anymore?

There is also the problem that most large corporations don't actually pay taxes. Consumers do.

So let's say Obama raises taxes on Wal-Mart. When you shop at Wal-Mart, YOU pay those taxes for them. They still aren't losing money and being punished. Consumers are.

Obama also has a very very large budget. Let's face it. Obama thinks a checkbook is a toy. Someone is going to have cover his spending, and he is telling us that it won't be the middle-class and lower-class people. YES HE WILL. The rich cannot cover his costs. He will destroy jobs if he tries, and SINK the economy beyond any repair that he could fix during his presidency.

But Obama also knows that most people in this country with a minimum 3rd grade level education, ownership of a functioning brain, and $1 to buy a calculator at the dollar store, are too lazy to do the math. I guess they think he will be spending Monopoly money. Actually, they aren't thinking at all. Obviously.

If McCain addresses this problem at the debate tonight, he may actually pull ahead. It's such a long shot.

So to conclude, Obama is either:

a) a liar, selling his Robin Hood Nirvana theory to voters to increase numbers in the polls, and won't follow through with any of it when he gets into office, or

b)an idiot, because he can't do math and will absolutely drive this country into another depression, taxing people during a recession.

And then there's this:

You just can't win with Michelle Obama.

I find a lot of what comes out of her mouth quite offensive anyways, and here is a good example.

In a recent interview, she claims that "evil people" are out to stop her husband from becoming president. What "evil people" is she talking about? She is talking about "many conservative white people and even some African Americans were against her husband, but that this group of blacks were simply doing so because of envy."

Well, I am a conservative white woman and I can assure anyone that race has nothing with why I hope her husband doesn't win. I don't think Obama has a high moral standard and I don't like his absurd policies, or his voting record.

His voting record on gun ownership is ABSURD!
His policies on the economy are ABSURD!
His policies on the Iraq war are ABSURD!

We're Screwed '08

It's official. Both candidates plans for the economy sucks. Unfortunately for us, Obama will win this election and I get to be proven right as to how bad his plan will screw us all. Rich, poor, middle class. All of us.

Obama just gave a speech where he mentioned being able to withdraw from your 401K by 2009 without paying penalty (or maybe within 2009 also, I wasn't fully paying attention.) This is to help get caught up on our finances. Pay off credit cards we have had to fall back to pay bills during these "hard times." We haven't seen hard times until Obama is in office. Sure. My 401k is worthless at the moment. And I mean worthless. There isn't anything there for me to withdraw if I wanted to. But eventually it will be worth what I put into it, and then some, but it will not be within this year. Any idiot can see that, right?

If I were McCain, my comeback would be somewhere along the lines of addressing what people's 401K's are actually worth right now. Why settle for less money that what you put in? Who wants to do that? Offer tax cuts while tightening the reigns on all the ridiculous spending currently going on in Washington. Create jobs to boost the economy and get your retirement back where it should be. Who wants to be working in their 70s and 80s? I can't think of anyone.

We need to see some passion from McCain for him to make a comeback. Obama is so charismatic and people are sucked into it. We need to see McCain get mad, get a backbone, and start hitting Obama where it hurts. The Obama camp says that people are only concerned with the economy right now, which works in their favor, while they blind voters with their absolutely insane economic policies that do not work.

Ask Hoover how it went over for him when he raised taxes during a recession.

Obama will not, and I repeat WILL NOT lower our taxes. Don't buy it. It's NOT going to happen and he will cost us more jobs than what we have already lost. I think more than half of this country needs a lobotomy. This does include many of the republican party.

I want my Huckabee! Why couldn't he win the primary?

Guess who supports McCain

Chuck Norris. Good enough for me. If Chuck Norris votes McCain, I vote McCain.

Hey, it's a better reason to vote than what most idiots are coming up with in this election.

Besides...

-Chuck Norris uses pepper spray to season his steaks.
-Chuck Norris once roundhouse kicked someone so hard that his foot broke the speed of light, went back in time, and killed Amelia Earhart while she was flying over the Pacific Ocean.
-The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Chuck Norris played in second grade.
-Chuck Norris was the fourth wise man, who gave baby Jesus the gift of beard, which he carried with him until he died. The other three wise men were enraged by the preference that Jesus showed to Chuck's gift, and arranged to have him written out of the bible. All three died soon after of mysterious roundhouse-kick related injuries.

Obama On Taxes

I haven't forgotten my blog. It's been a hectic week, and it may be a couple days before I can post again. I'm at a loss where the dirt in this house comes from. I scrubbed my floors on my hands and knees today, and within hours they were dirty again. But I digress....

Here's a reality check for 95 % of Americans who really believe that they won't pay taxes under Obama. (It's really more like 80%.)

He entered the U.S. Senate in January of 2005. He has less than 4 years experience in the U.S. Senate after 8 years in the Illinois Senate. (He has been absent on 24% of the votes while in the U.S. Senate this past season. Tell me, where can I get a job making $165,200 a year and not show up for a quarter of the time, and then get promoted to the highest position available? I think I may run for office.)(To be fair, McCain has been absent more this season, but has a much more solid record and many more years of experience behind him.)

He voted to raise taxes 94 times. Sort of. To be specific...
-23 times were against proposed tax cuts. (Well, that's not exactly cutting taxes, but keeping them high. This is not the kind of man who needs a blank check. Trust me.)
-7 would have lowered taxes and raise them on corporations and affluent individuals. (Corporations don't pay taxes. Consumers do. We do. And affluent individuals play a large role in keeping our economy strong. We cannot, and I mean cannot, take away their spending money.)
-11 would have increased on those who made over $1 million. (While for good causes, see note above. Taxing only the rich is a bad idea. Sounds good but it doesn't work well for our economy.)
-Some didn't raise taxes, but instead were budget measures, which would have called for tax increases to cover them. (I could find a better way to spend $3.4 million than on an overhead projector!)

And the plans he has to spend during his 4 years in presidency cannot be covered by "the rich." It would cost jobs. A lot of them. It's hard to say how many before it happens, but mark my words, it will cost jobs. Actually, instead of spending over $3 million for a projector, why don't we create some jobs with that money? Why don't we invest that money in the school system? Give the teachers a raise? What I could do with $3 million.

I'll take the guy that has a proven record over years and years in the senate cutting spending, and cutting taxes, and saving us all money, thank you. (That would be McCain, by the way.) The one who won't destroy our economy raising taxes during a recession, and can actually prove to me that he won't by showing me his past.

Actually, why is it that Obama's rating seems indirectly proportional with the economy? The stock market goes down, Obama's poll numbers go up. I'm so confused. He thought those sub-prime mortgages were a good idea, which is a large contributing factor getting us into this mess. He was paid "hush money" from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and sat silent when members of congress tried to fix a looming problem. Am I really the only one seeing how bad Obama is for this economy?

What Tom Mcardle Has To Say About Obama's Tax Philosphy

On September 30, 2008 Bill O'Reilly interviewd Tom Mcardle, a senior writer for Investors Business Daily. They discussed Obama's Tax Philosophy, which basically says tax the rich and give to the poor, also known as income redistribution. Sounds wonderful to people like me, of course, but I am not buying another of his "telling the people what they want to hear" tactics, and here is why I find it impossible.

Barack Obama calls it neighborly and fairness. I call it a ploy to get elected by, once again, telling people what they want to hear.

First of all he can't give a consistent percentage, but that's the least of his set up for failure with this bogus plan.

Tom Mcradle says, "Well, he's talking about suspending capital gains for small businesses, which shows he fundamentally misunderstands how a free economy works. The big money that investors invest comes at the higher incomes. If you punish those people, you have a big problem with capital mobility. There is no way that that is not going to translate into lost jobs for ordinary people."

He goes on, " Well, this is a man that according to the national taxpayers union wants to spend $293 billion in extra spending annually. He is not going to be able to get all that money from the rich. He's gonna have to dip down into middle class in spite of what he says about 95% of middle class getting the tax cuts... Bill Clinton was not in office one month before he gave an address to the nation saying not only is there not going to be a middle class tax cut, there's going to be a middle class tax increase."

Bill O'Reilly addresses with this, "Well, that's what's going to have to happen this time because of the bailout. There isn't any money for any of this... If John McCain were smart, in the next debate, he'd say, You can't do anything, We just don't have it, what are gonna... China gonna lend it to ya? Where you gonna get it? Because there aren't enough people in this country, as you said, to provide the funds to expand the government, and payout the bailout. It's not gonna happen... He's selling this program to get elected."

Don't forget his universal healthcare plan. $100 billion a year it would cost easy. There is no cost containment in Obama's plan. It all sounds so wonderful doesn't it. But possible? Hardly.

He believes you can punish the fat cats in America through the tax system, yank up their taxes in a big way, without badly hurting the little guy, and that simply is not true. -Tom Mcardle

Not only are non-existant people voting democrat, they are now donating money. Do read this in detail.

The Obama campaign is receiving millions illegally. I hope to see a lot more of this information all over the news, but I am not holding my breath. I highlighted some interesting points.

This is an article from Newsmax written by Kenneth R. Timmerman.

Secret, Foreign Money Floods Into Obama Campaign

More than half of the whopping $426.9 million Barack Obama has raised has come from small donors whose names the Obama campaign won't disclose.

And questions have arisen about millions more in foreign donations the Obama campaign has received that apparently have not been vetted as legitimate.

Obama has raised nearly twice that of John McCain's campaign, according to new campaign finance report.

But because of Obama’s high expenses during the hotly contested Democratic primary season and an early decision to forgo public campaign money and the spending limits it imposes, all that cash has not translated into a financial advantage — at least, not yet.

The Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee began September with $95 million in cash, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
The McCain camp and the Republican National Committee had $94 million, because of an influx of $84 million in public money.

But Obama easily could outpace McCain by $50 million to $100 million or more in new donations before Election Day, thanks to a legion of small contributors whose names and addresses have been kept secret.

Unlike the McCain campaign, which has made its complete donor database available online, the Obama campaign has not identified donors for nearly half the amount he has raised, according to the Center for Responsive Politics (CRP).

Federal law does not require the campaigns to identify donors who give less than $200 during the election cycle. However, it does require that campaigns calculate running totals for each donor and report them once they go beyond the $200 mark.

Surprisingly, the great majority of Obama donors never break the $200 threshold.
“Contributions that come under $200 aggregated per person are not listed,” said Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the FEC. “They don’t appear anywhere, so there’s no way of knowing who they are.”

The FEC breakdown of the Obama campaign has identified a staggering $222.7 million as coming from contributions of $200 or less. Only $39.6 million of that amount comes from donors the Obama campaign has identified.

It is the largest pool of unidentified money that has ever flooded into the U.S. election system, before or after the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reforms of 2002.

Biersack would not comment on whether the FEC was investigating the huge amount of cash that has come into Obama’s coffers with no public reporting.

But Massie Ritsch, a spokesman for CRP, a campaign-finance watchdog group, dismissed the scale of the unreported money.

“We feel comfortable that it isn’t the $20 donations that are corrupting a campaign,” he told Newsmax.

But those small donations have added up to more than $200 million, all of it from unknown and unreported donors.

Ritsch acknowledges that there is skepticism about all the unreported money, especially in the Obama campaign coffers.

“We and seven other watchdog groups asked both campaigns for more information on small donors,” he said. “The Obama campaign never responded,” whereas the McCain campaign “makes all its donor information, including the small donors, available online.”

The rise of the Internet as a campaign funding tool raises new questions about the adequacy of FEC requirements on disclosure. In pre-Internet fundraising, almost all political donations, even small ones, were made by bank check, leaving a paper trail and limiting the amount of fraud.
But credit cards used to make donations on the Internet have allowed for far more abuse.
“While FEC practice is to do a post-election review of all presidential campaigns, given their sluggish metabolism, results can take three or four years,” said Ken Boehm, the chairman of the conservative National Legal and Policy Center.

Already, the FEC has noted unusual patterns in Obama campaign donations among donors who have been disclosed because they have gone beyond the $200 minimum.

When FEC auditors have questions about contributions, they send letters to the campaign’s finance committee requesting additional information, such as the complete address or employment status of the donor.

Many of the FEC letters that Newsmax reviewed instructed the Obama campaign to “redesignate” contributions in excess of the finance limits.

Under campaign finance laws, an individual can donate $2,300 to a candidate for federal office in both the primary and general election, for a total of $4,600. If a donor has topped the limit in the primary, the campaign can “redesignate” the contribution to the general election on its books.
In a letter dated June 25, 2008, the FEC asked the Obama campaign to verify a series of $25 donations from a contributor identified as “Will, Good” from Austin, Texas.

Mr. Good Will listed his employer as “Loving” and his profession as “You.”

A Newsmax analysis of the 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will, most of them for $25.

In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375.

Following this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330 contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card. But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative balance of $8,950 — still well over the $4,600 limit.
There can be no doubt that the Obama campaign noticed these contributions, since Obama’s Sept. 20 report specified that Good Will’s cumulative contributions since the beginning of the campaign were $9,375.

In an e-mailed response to a query from Newsmax, Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt pledged that the campaign would return the donations. But given the slowness with which the campaign has responded to earlier FEC queries, there’s no guarantee that the money will be returned before the Nov. 4 election.

Similarly, a donor identified as “Pro, Doodad,” from “Nando, NY,” gave $19,500 in 786 separate donations, most of them for $25. For most of these donations, Mr. Doodad Pro listed his employer as “Loving” and his profession as “You,” just as Good Will had done.

But in some of them, he didn’t even go this far, apparently picking letters at random to fill in the blanks on the credit card donation form. In these cases, he said he was employed by “VCX” and that his profession was “VCVC.”

Following FEC requests, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro in February 2008. In all, about $8,425 was charged back to a credit card. But that still left a net total of $11,165 as of Sept. 20, way over the individual limit of $4,600.

Here again, LaBolt pledged that the contributions would be returned but gave no date.
In February, after just 93 donations, Doodad Pro had already gone over the $2,300 limit for the primary. He was over the $4,600 limit for the general election one month later.

In response to FEC complaints, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro even before he reached these limits. But his credit card was the gift that kept on giving. His most recent un-refunded contributions were on July 7, when he made 14 separate donations, apparently by credit card, of $25 each.

Just as with Mr. Good Will, there can be no doubt that the Obama campaign noticed the contributions, since its Sept. 20 report specified that Doodad’s cumulative contributions since the beginning of the campaign were $10,965.

Foreign Donations

And then there are the overseas donations — at least, the ones that we know about.
The FEC has compiled a separate database of potentially questionable overseas donations that contains more than 11,500 contributions totaling $33.8 million. More than 520 listed their “state” as “IR,” often an abbreviation for Iran. Another 63 listed it as “UK,” the United Kingdom.
More than 1,400 of the overseas entries clearly were U.S. diplomats or military personnel, who gave an APO address overseas. Their total contributions came to just $201,680.

But others came from places as far afield as Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa, Beijing, Fallujah, Florence, Italy, and a wide selection of towns and cities in France.

Until recently, the Obama Web site allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Unlike McCain’s or Sen. Hillary Clinton’s online donation pages, the Obama site did not ask for proof of citizenship until just recently. Clinton’s presidential campaign required U.S. citizens living abroad to actually fax a copy of their passport before a donation would be accepted.
With such lax vetting of foreign contributions, the Obama campaign may have indirectly contributed to questionable fundraising by foreigners.

In July and August, the head of the Nigeria’s stock market held a series of pro-Obama fundraisers in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city. The events attracted local Nigerian business owners.
At one event, a table for eight at one fundraising dinner went for $16,800. Nigerian press reports claimed sponsors raked in an estimated $900,000.

The sponsors said the fundraisers were held to help Nigerians attend the Democratic convention in Denver. But the Nigerian press expressed skepticism of that claim, and the Nigerian public anti-fraud commission is now investigating the matter.

Concerns about foreign fundraising have been raised by other anecdotal accounts of illegal activities.

In June, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi gave a public speech praising Obama, claiming foreign nationals were donating to his campaign.

“All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man,” the Libyan leader said. “They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency..."

Though Gadhafi asserted that fundraising from Arab and African nations were “legitimate,” the fact is that U.S. federal law bans any foreigner from donating to a U.S. election campaign.

The rise of the Internet and use of credit cards have made it easier for foreign nationals to donate to American campaigns, especially if they claim their donation is less than $200.

Campaign spokesman LaBolt cited several measures that the campaign has adopted to “root out fraud,” including a requirement that anyone attending an Obama fundraising event overseas present a valid U.S. passport, and a new requirement that overseas contributors must provide a passport number when donating online.

One new measure that might not appear obvious at first could be frustrating to foreigners wanting to buy campaign paraphernalia such as T-shirts or bumper stickers through the online store.

In response to an investigation conducted by blogger Pamela Geller, who runs the blog Atlas Shrugs, the Obama campaign has locked down the store.

Geller first revealed on July 31 that donors from the Gaza strip had contributed $33,000 to the Obama campaign through bulk purchases of T-shirts they had shipped to Gaza.

The online campaign store allows buyers to complete their purchases by making an additional donation to the Obama campaign.

A pair of Palestinian brothers named Hosam and Monir Edwan contributed more than $31,300 to the Obama campaign in October and November 2007, FEC records show.

Their largesse attracted the attention of the FEC almost immediately. In an April 15, 2008, report that examined the Obama campaign’s year-end figures for 2007, the FEC asked that some of these contributions be reassigned.

The Obama camp complied sluggishly, prompting a more detailed admonishment form the FEC on July 30.

The Edwan brothers listed their address as “GA,” as in Georgia, although they entered “Gaza” or “Rafah Refugee camp” as their city of residence on most of the online contribution forms.

According to the Obama campaign, they wrongly identified themselves as U.S. citizens, via a voluntary check-off box at the time the donations were made.

Many of the Edwan brothers’ contributions have been purged from the FEC database, but they still can be found in archived versions available for CRP and other watchdog groups.

The latest Obama campaign filing shows that $891.11 still has not been refunded to the Edwan brothers, despite repeated FEC warnings and campaign claims that all the money was refunded in December.

A Newsmax review of the Obama campaign finance filings found that the FEC had asked for the redesignation or refund of 53,828 donations, totaling just under $30 million.

But none involves the donors who never appear in the Obama campaign reports, which the CRP estimates at nearly half the $426.8 million the Obama campaign has raised to date.

Many of the small donors participated in online “matching” programs, which allows them to hook up with other Obama supporters and eventually share e-mail addresses and blogs.

The Obama Web site described the matching contribution program as similar to a public radio fundraising drive.

“Our goal is to bring 50,000 new donors into our movement by Friday at midnight,” campaign manager David Plouffe e-mailed supporters on Sept. 15. “And if you make your first online donation today, your gift will go twice as far. A previous donor has promised to match every dollar you donate.”

FEC spokesman Biersack said he was unfamiliar with the matching donation drive. But he said that if donations from another donor were going to be reassigned to a new donor, as the campaign suggested, “the two people must agree” to do so.

This type of matching drive probably would be legal as long as the matching donor had not exceeded the $2,300 per-election limit, he said.

Obama campaign spokesman LaBolt said, “We have more than 2.5 million donors overall, hundreds of thousands of which have participated in this program.”

Until now, the names of those donors and where they live have remained anonymous — and the federal watchdog agency in charge of ensuring that the presidential campaigns play by the same rules has no tools to find out.

Clinging To Religion and Guns

In case what I wrote yesterday wasn't enough, there's always more I would like to say. But before we get there, I would like to do something for you folks. The whole 3 people I assume are actually reading this blog of mine. Would you like to see where I get my information from? After all, I could be lying to you or blowing something way out of proportion, right?

Here you go. If you don't want to take what I say as fact, maybe this will help.

1. http://www.ontheissues.org/
2. http://www.gunbanobama.com/
3. http://www.obama.senate.gov/ (This one is great. Go check out his voting record!!!! You should definetely devote 30 minutes or more to this site.)
4. http://www.senate.gov/
5. http://www.michellemalkin.com/
6. http://www.bornalivetruth.org/
7. http://www.priestsforlife.org/ (Don't look at the pictures on this site if you are soft-hearted or have a weak stomach. Just trust me on this.)

These are the sites where I got most of my information from yesterday's post.

Moving on.

My latest pet peeve is this. I am pretty tired of the Obama camp tiring out McCain saying the fundamentals of our economy are strong. The same man who put a hold on his campaign to make sure the bailout plan passed (even though it didn't, surprisingly), that republicans weren't left out of it, and of course to remove special interests such as ACORN receiving LARGE sums of money. The same McCain who 3 years ago tried to bring attention to the problems with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. All the while the democrats told him he was making a mountain of a mole hill, and there was no problem. Now of course the democrats would say that. Did you see how much money was being handed to them? Did you know Barack Obama was #3 on that payroll? Can we say hypocrite?

Next.

Did you hear about this? Voting in Ohio started a couple of days ago, but did you know that many many homeless people were being picked up and brought to the polls to vote. By whom, I want to know. Pay for a cab? No. If you needed a ride, someone would take you anywhere you wanted to go (not homeless), so long as you first went to register to vote. I am not so niave as to believe that these people were not having their votes swayed on the way. Do you know why? Because if I was driving, I would be swaying votes. I would tell them how awful I thought Obama was for this country, about his voting record, and I would even give them printouts of his record if they wanted a copy. I would describe to them exactly what partial-birth abortion entailed, and how supportive he is of it. And how he supports letting the ones who miraculously live, just lay and die. Don't get me wrong. I think every citizen in this country deserves the right to vote and it's a good way to get votes from people who would otherwise not do so, but I still have my reservations about how all this is playing out. No republican president has won an election without Ohio, so this is a pretty important state.

Next.

I have much to say, and not enough time to type it all in, but I would like leave you with two things. I promise you that I thoroughly research everything I write and I will make it clear where facts end and my opinions on matters step in. And I would like to leave you with a random fact before I go clinging to my religion and guns, as Obama would like to say. Actually I need to do dishes and laundry.

Random Fact: A lot is 2 words.

Good day.

The Truth Sometimes Hurts

I have a lot to get off my chest lately and not enough outlets to do so, so I created a blog. Since only recently becoming enthralled in politics, which I once thought was the most boring thing ever invented, I can't seem to shut up about it all now. So here is everything I want to shout to the world at this current time.

Let's start with a woman named Gianna Jessen. She survived an abortion 31 years ago and is an "unashamable christian" as she calls herself. She is a pro-life advocate who was told she would never walk and now runs marathons. Now her mother was over 7 months pregnant when she had a saline abortion, which burns the infant, and this procedure lasted 18 hours. She miraculously survives this, is delivered premature but alive and fighting to continue to live and is given healthcare. She is "blessed with the gift of cerebral palsy" due to the experience and doesn't mind to tell anyone who will listen that if Obama had it his way, she wouldn't be here. Why is that, you ask? Because whether a baby surviving an abortion should be given healthcare to sustain life, even if for a short period of time, has somehow become debatable. Know who voted not to given a child born alive healthcare?

Obama did.

Four times!!!!

So what happens to these babies that survive? They are taken to rooms in the abortion clinic with soiled linens and set on tables and shelves and left to die, no matter how long it eventually takes. Shocked? So was I. Find it hard to believe? Check it out yourself.

Next.

Anyone out there sweating the decline in the economy? I have. My husband was laid off on the day we had our son earlier this year. The second time he has been laid off since we started dating over 2 years ago. Have we ever been in a position to purchase a house in this time? No, we have not. We would love to. But now the banks are tightening up, and there are talks about credit drying up. My husband finally got a good job that pays enough money to support his family, allow me to stay home to take care of my children and my house, and even start saving for a down payment on a house, and for the first time, health insurance for the entire family. Now we are not greedy people. We don't have much, but we also don't want for much. We are both very content to have healthy children, a roof over our heads, food on the table, and clothes to wear. We don't need a big house or a luxury vehicle, and don't care that we don't have them now, or if we have them later, for that matter. We are quite modest, and all we want is a modest house one day. One day when we are financially secure to pay for it. Which brings me to this point...

Ever hear of ACORN? I hadn't until last week but I have been boning up on what they are. They are The Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now. Wait? Community Organizer. Wasn't Barack Obama a Community Organizer? What is that anyways? Does he have block parties and go singing christmas carols with his neighbors to all of his community? I bet he organized it. Brought it all together for everybody. Maybe even had a park put in a couple blocks away for the kids to play. You know, helping the community organize such things.

Wrong. Here are some facts on ACORN. They fight for low-income families, with good or bad credit, to be able to buy a home. Sounds good. Seeing as how I will be on the market for a house when we save up for our down payment in 2 or 3 years, this is sounding pretty good. Hey, maybe they can help me. With the way things are going it may be a difficult process to get a mortgage. But a large part of our housing crisis can be directly attributed to ACORN. How?

"The truth is that the root cause of the mortgage mess is found in Washington and with organizations like ACORN which have long pushed and used extortion tactics to force banks to make bad loans. All the while, collecting millions of dollars in grants and “donations” from banks that paid them protection money." (The Virginian)

"ACORN helps illegal immigrants get mortgages using “under-the-table” (untaxed and unreported) money as income. It encourages people to buy homes with no money down, who have no credit rating or documented income. It encourages people to take out interest-only loans, 40 year non-amortized loans (which means that you can reach the end of a 40 year mortgage and still owe money), and reverse mortgages. This is not responsible credit counseling. This puts ACORN on the side of the most abusive lending practices in the country, right up there with payday loans. The difference is that payday lenders are not recipients of taxpayer money." (The Virginian)

ACORN takes in 40% of its revenues from taxpayers. Obama works as their legal representative.

Not enough? Read on.

Last July, ACORN settled the largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State. Acorn submitted nearly 2,000 bogus voter registration forms. "Leon Spinks","Fruto Boy Crispila", and "Frekkie Magoal" were out voting democrat. Bless their little non-existant hearts.

There's more.

This has happened in 14 other states. All tied to ACORN. In Ohio in 2004, a worker for one affiliate was given crack cocaine in exchange for fraudulent registrations that included underage voters, dead voters and pillars of the community named Mary Poppins, Dick Tracy and Jive Turkey.

Yesterday Ohio was making it possible for the public to register to vote and cast their absentee ballot all in one day. Do I think ACORN may have had something going on there yesterday?

Well, I wouldn't be surprised.

Guess how much money Barack Obama has recently given to ACORN. Come on. Guess.

$800,000. He hid it. Not well enough.

Let's buy those votes. Illegally. Yay for democracy!
